Visitor information - Barrier-free

Admission

Admission is free of charge to the visitors with disabilities, Atomic bomb survivors, Wounded and Sick Retired Soldiers and one person as a caregiver for each of those visitors. These visitors may be asked to present an Identification Handbook or a certification(1) at entrance.

(1) Identification Handbook or Claimant Certifications:
  • physical disability certificate
  • rehabilitation certificate
  • psychiatric disordered certificate
  • atomic bomb survivors
  • wounded and sick retired soldiers
  • welfare service for persons with disabilities
  • medical payment for services and supports for persons with disabilities

Assistance dogs (Guide dogs, Hearing dogs and Service dogs)

Assistance dogs specially traind to support a person with disability are welcome in the Institue.

Wheelchairs (all manually operated)

A few of Wheelchairs are available at entrance to borrow for your visit free of charge. If you would like to use them, please ask at the Information Desk located to the entrance. Advanced reservations are not available.
Please note that whole garden including paths are unpaved and there are some areas/steps which are quite difficult to access for persons with physical disabilities.

AED

AED (Automated external defibrillators) is located on the ground floor in Education Management Building
